Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before we begin, make sure you have the necessary supplies ready. 

Here’s a quick list:

1. Printer: You’ll need a color printer to print the cupcake toppers.
2. Cardstock or thick paper: We recommended printing the toppers on cardstock or thick paper to ensure durability.
3. Scissors: Sharp scissors will be handy for cutting out the toppers. We recommend using the 2″ craft punch by Fiskars X-Large Round’ n Round for best results.

5. Glue sticks or a glue pen, but you can use standard glue if it dries clear.
6. BBQ Bamboo Skewers, Wooden Skewers, or toothpicks: Depending on how you wish to attach the toppers to your cupcakes. If you’re making these cupcake toppers for small children, wooden-multi-purpose-popsicle-sticks-depresso may be safer.

Step 2: Download the Yorkie Cupcake Topper Template

Step 3: Print and Cut

Once you’ve downloaded the template, open it and print as many copies as you need. Adjust the print settings if necessary to ensure the best quality. Using scissors, carefully cut out each cupcake topper along the designated lines. Take your time to create clean and precise cuts, as this will enhance the overall appearance of your cupcakes.

Step 4: Attach the Toppers

Now that you have your beautifully crafted Yorkie cupcake toppers, it’s time to attach them to your cupcakes. There are two options you can choose from:

Option 1: Tape – Apply a small piece of tape to the back of each topper and gently press it onto the frosting of your cupcakes. Ensure the tape is secure but not too sticky so it doesn’t damage the cupcake when removed.

Option 2: Toothpicks – If you prefer a more decorative approach, attach a toothpick to the back of each topper using a small piece of tape. Insert the toothpick into the center of the cupcake, ensuring it stands upright.

Step 5: Add a second printable circle

Put another printable circle face down and cover the entire surface with glue. Line up this circle with the bottom circle, and gently press down to adhere the circles around the toothpick or popsicle stick.
